Breed: Grade Gaited Horse
Heigth: Approx 14.3 hh
Bonnie is a beautiful gaited mare that is advanced beginner-intermediate ready. She does get a little nervous when hauled anywhere where there is a large crown and a whole lot going on. But she has been trail rode and rode in an arena with no issues. Bonnie does have a stifle that gives her problems every now and then. She is on an inexpensive MSM supplement that helps manage this. She has also been diagnosed with a case of Heaves/COPD that is also manageable. She takes a medication with her food daily and does best when pastured 100% with square bales and soaked feed. Bonnie is a very gentle mare and is well behaved around children. Bonnie would be an excellent companion mare, or a light riding horse. Bonnie’s adoption fee has been waived to an approved home. See videos of Bonnie under saddle below.
Here’s the video from Bonnie’s field trip yesterday. We were quite impressed with her. She really wasn’t bothered by anything; we even ran across deer on the trail! Bonnie has a slight hitch in her giddy-up in her stifle, but is sound for light riding per vet. She’s easily intermediate rider ready and may be suitable for an advanced beginner. #adoptable #operationsavingseven

Here's a video from Bonnie's outing this weekend. You may remember from previous posts that field trips cause Bonnie anxiety- well, she did great on this trip! Improvement! Bonnie definitely has more whoa than go. She's a kind horse that has shown no buck or silliness under saddle. We feel for field trips to maybe just a small trail ride or arena without much commotion she could be a fit for a confident beginner rider. Apply to adopt her today at www.hickoryhillfarmtn.org
